FSU Annual Meeting is April 28th, 2-4- Deadline to submit new business items is April 7th


Dear FSU member, 

We want to remind you that the FSU Annual Meeting is Wednesday, April 28th from 2PM to 4PM.   The deadline to submit new business items is Wednesday, April 7th (more below).

The Annual Meeting is held for the purpose of hearing committee reports, be updated on FSU activities, adopt an annual budget, adopt bylaws, establish dues rates and other business as needed (source: FSU policies).  Organizations such as unions are required to hold an annual meeting.  (contact FSU or Steve Striffler for the tentative agenda). 

The final agenda and zoom link will be sent no later than April 14th.  

New Business Items 

FSU Policies state that all new business must be received no later than 21 days prior to the annual meeting.  The deadline to submit new business is Wednesday, April 7th at 5PM EDT.  The new business item must be submitted in the form of a motion and be sent to the FSU email at A confirmation email will be sent acknowledging receipt.  

If the new business item is monetary, please note the FSU Treasurer will be forwarded the new business item for the Treasurer’s review and to provide a recommendation to the annual meeting attendees.   

FSU Budget Adoption 

The FSU Executive Committee and the Treasurer are currently working on a proposed annual budget.  The proposed annual budget will be sent to members prior to the annal meeting for review and feedback.  Then the Executive Committee will make a recommendation to the Annual Meeting to adopt an annual budget.  This recommendation along with the budget document will be sent to members.  We will also provide an opportunity for members to weigh in on the draft budget during our April 21st Ex Com meeting (more info to come).
