Nomination Period for FSU Spring 2023 Elections

Dear Colleagues, 

The Faculty Staff Union (FSU) holds an election every Spring semester for positions on the FSU Executive Committee.  

The positions up for election or re-election in Spring 2023 include: 

Vice President

Non-Tenure Track (2 positions)

Pre-Tenure (1 position)

Tenured (2 positions)

The attached document contains an election overview along with the schedule of election activities including nominations, campaigning, and voting.

Dear Member, 

Ah…the last week of classes. The end of lecture preps and the beginning of final grading and of course this all happens during the holiday season.   This issue of Nuts & Bolts contains an announcement and two reminders.  

FSU Annual Elections: 2023 Announcement   

Each Spring, FSU members elect members to the FSU Executive Committee, the governing body of your union.  Election is by constituency except for the positions of president and vice-president.  

UMass Faculty Member Runs for President of the MTA

An effort is underway to dramatically change the MTA by electing a new president and supporting new policies.  The candidate leading this effort is Barbara Madeloni, a faculty member at UMass Amherst. Barbara is an impressive figure, and she is part of a larger movement, Educators for a Democratic Union, that includes K-12 teachers across the state.
