FSU Executive Committee Meeting Minutes
February 5, 2026
Executive Committee Members Present: Caroline Coscia (President); Jason Rodriquez; Monique Fuguet; Meredith Laferte- Coutu; Brian White; Lynne Benson; Keith Jones; Andrew Elder; Karen Grayson
Others Present: Katie D’Urso (MTA Field Rep); Lorenzo Nencioli, Senior Staff Member
- Updates
a. GIC emails are being sent against the raise for insurance. Hope is that there could be movement with the weight of the MTA. Spread the word about sending the email. Copy deanr@umb.edu.
b. Annual meeting: April 16th 11:00 am – 1 pm. Motion to approve. Seconded. Motion carries with unanimity.
2. Pizza and cookies
Proposed semester schedule: Thursday, Feb 12th, Weds Feb 25th, Thursday, March 12th, Weds. April 1st and Weds April 29th. Weds will be 11:30 to 12:30 and Thursdays 12:30 to 1:30.
3. FSU Elections
We are down two TT members. These replacements will be made in the upcoming election.
Positions open: TT, TT, NTT, NTT, President, librarian, pre-tenure
Options: the new TT takes office in June like we always do or do you wish they take office upon completion of the election.
Decision: new TT takes office upon completion of the election, if they wish.
4. Grievance case for continuing appointment
Decision: start a campaign alongside the grievance.
Meeting for an organizing campaign: Feb 12 at 11 am.
5. Website: Shift to new host and a new domain name
We have secured a new domain name: facultystaffunion.org. Our new host is through MTA.
Action: form a team to work on our new site.
6. Solidarity with MN
Decisions: sponsor a LUCE training on campus. Continue to think about this.
7. Membership Drive – Update from Katie and Jason
31 new members last semester!
We will schedule a training soon, hybrid.
Try to be present at events on campus as FSU to meet people and have conversations.
8. Parking Bargaining: Update- Caroline
An ExComm member chosen as representative on the parking organizing committee.
9. UPDATES
a. Unfair Labor Practice Space Policy Hearing, January 28th. For space policy.
b. Unfair Labor Practice Filing on FOIA, preliminary scheduled for March 30th
c. Organizing meeting for new campaign on February 12th
d. LUCE training on February 26th
