Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Vacancy
The FSU Executive Committee is concerned that the position of Assistant Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion has been vacant since the summer and that there seems to be no timeline for filling the position.
On November 10th, we sent an email to the Chancellor requesting to meet with him about this. Our concerns included:
Why hasn’t the campus community been informed of and updated on this vacancy?
If a review is taking place, what individuals are partaking? Are all levels of stakeholders included? Will the review results be communicated to the campus community?
If the review results in a change of office structure and operations, who makes the determination? What group is responsible for writing adjusted job descriptions?
Will there be a search committee for this position? The FSU along with other stakeholders expect to be part of the committee and participate in the process.
We will keep you updated.
Non-Tenure Track: Promotion submittal deadline
To those NTT’s who informed your chair in May 2023 of your intention to file for promotion, the deadline to submit your promotion materials (Article 21.12.4) to your chair is January 26, 2024.
Senior Lecturer IIs applying for Senior Lecturer III: Only those applying for Senior Lecturer III will submit materials listed in the Memorandum of Agreement, which was extended to those applying for promotion in 2024.
Reminder: Pass/Fail and Course Withdrawal Deadline
Thursday, November 16th is the deadline for students to select pass/fail or to withdraw from a class.
