Stand With Your Union!

Greetings, 

Our members are being targeted by a national campaign to weaken public sector unions and strip workers of their rights and power. You may have received an email or mailing urging you to opt-out of paying union dues. The Freedom Foundation, a Koch-funded anti-union organization, is behind this campaign and others like it happening around the country.

The Freedom Foundation is bankrolled by billionaires eager to shrink public spending on education, health care, and social services.

Our union is not funded by billionaires. It is funded by you, our members. And you have a voice in how we achieve the wages and working conditions that we deserve.

The FSU has done remarkable things working together both within our own union and alongside other unions representing workers at UMass Boston and in public higher education across the Commonwealth. We will continue negotiating and advocating for the best possible working conditions for faculty and librarians, and the best possible learning conditions for our students. Our dues make it possible to protect and strengthen our rights.

Our power comes from our members, and that power protects us against those who are behind organizations like The Freedom Foundation, who do not want a just society where everyone has an opportunity to prosper.

While we know you won’t be fooled into giving up your rights and power,  we do want to alert you to this campaign targeting public higher education unions across Massachusetts.
