Implementation of New Non Tenure Track Faculty Language

All Non Tenure Track Faculty (NTT) Unit Alert:

Take action to get your raises paid

Please sign the petition asking that your full raises for this year be paid.

Please circulate this widely.  We are tabling this week as well to spread the word that the UMass President is saying he won’t pay our full raises without increasing student tuition and fees to pay for this, when he was given the money for our raises last summer.

You just got a whopping 0.5% salary increase--make sure it is higher by taking action

UMass has agreed to pay us our raises starting May 3, 2015.  Because this includes only 2 out of 12 months you should have had an increased paycheck, rather than receiving up to a 3.5% salary increase this year, you will be receiving a whopping 0.4-0.6% increase.

Stop the proposal to increase your share of your health care premiums from 20% to 25%

The MTA will have a lobbying day on Thursday, April 2nd, 9:30 AM at the State House in the Gardner Auditorium to tell legislatures that we oppose increasing your share of health care premiums from 20% to 25%.  With the increases in co-pays and deductibles you will face, these increased premium costs will be a hardship for our families.

Significant changes for your health care costs already include (and we cannot change these):

Spring 15

President's Letter

Dear colleagues:

It is my pleasure to serve as your FSU President. Here is an update on some important issues.

Bargaining

We completed bargaining on most issues in the fall. The major elements of the new contract include:

Raises of up to 3.5% per year over three years (split between a 2.1% cost of living and 1.4% merit).

Benefits for all half-time NTTs (there is no longer a waiting period).

Promotions for NTTs by FTE, not calendar year accumulations.
