Seeking Chancellor Support for Our Raises

Friday afternoon, we joined with the Classified Staff Union and Professional Staff Union is asking the Chancellor to publicly support our fight to get our raises.

Chancellor Suárez-Orozco,

We ask you to join in solidarity with UMB faculty, staff and librarians and publicly state your support demanding the state legislature fund our contracts.

As you are aware, Wednesday evening, the legislature failed to vote to adopt Governor Healey’s supplemental budget which contains the one-year 2023-2024 collective bargaining agreements for four UMB unions.   Each union negotiated their contract in good faith with your administration.  Both sides worked hard this summer to complete negotiations of the one-year agreements with an understanding our contracts would be funded in the summer.

Today, five months later, union members are having to fight to receive our raises while continuing to do our jobs.

We ask you to support UMB employees in securing our raises. We ask you to tell House and Senate leadership that UMB works because we do.  Every day we do our jobs, we are not to be treated as pawns in a political game.

Transportation Bargaining: Session Postponed

Today’s 11:00AM-12:30AM Transportation Bargaining with administration is postponed so that the bargainers can attend the State House events.  We will inform you when we are back at the table.

Periodic Multi-year Review (PMYR)
