FSU Executive Committee Meeting Minutes

Executive Committee Members Present: Caroline Coscia (President); Jeff Melnick (Vice President); Chris Barcelos; Dana Commesso; Sana Haroon; Linda Liu; Jose Martinez-Reyes; Brian White
Others Present: Lorenzo Nencioli (FSU Senior Staff Member); Katie D’Urso (MTA Field Rep); Paul Dyson (FSU NTT Grievance Officer)
- Approval of agenda:
2.Executive Committee vacancies: Caroline: look for some members now for 3 vacant Tenured rep slots, then do ‘full court press’ mid- September to find additional members.
3.End of semester gathering: Jeff will pay for food, etc, Lorenzo will process reimbursement.
4.Academic reorganization: Discussion of possible transfer of MGS departments to CLA. Discussion of releasing possible statement. Agreed FSU will send statement on 5/10 to MGS faculty (except for Gerontology, who already were contacted). Caroline will send draft to Ex Com for review first. Lorenzo will get list of MGS fac, send to Caroline. Discussion of possible need for MOA for impact bargaining over GPD compensation.
Discussion of Summer/Winter pay rates for MGS.
5.Late summer planning meeting: Caroline will contact Ex Com members in June re possible meeting in late August.
6.Fall 23 Ex Com meeting schedule: Discussion of schedule. Jeff: Wait for any new Tenured reps to be elected before determining schedule? Caroline: Need to at least schedule Ex Com meetings for September since special election won’t be until late September.
7.Bargaining update: Katie gives update. Notes that CBT has sent counter for ground rules to Admin yesterday. FSU us waiting on their response.
8.Africana Studies: Discussion of status of search committees for new TT hires in department.
9.Summer FSU work: Discussion of union work in summer (Caroline and Lorenzo will available during summer).
10.Grievance update: EXECUTIVE SESSION
